We are unable to see Sampson today, as they discourage anything that would excite him after surgery. We receive a call from the surgeon in the evening to inform us that the surgeries went well, and he is now resting. We can see him tomorrow.

Sampson is our 4 year old golden/lab. On March 21, 2009, while we were away for the evening, he ran away from home and was missing for 7 painful days. He was hit by a car on the freeway and suffered a broken pelvis, had a front leg amputated, and serious lung damage from the impact. After undergoing major surgeries to repair the damage and nearly 2 weeks at the VCA Animal Hospital, he is now at home living a normal life. This is the story of his (and our) road to recovery.
Sacramento Bee, this is Linsey.
